About this website

This website has been produced by the Geological Society of London in partnership with University Geoscience UK, and the content therefore focuses on the UK education system, university system and job market.

However geological environments clearly have no national boundaries, and communication and travel to far-flung areas is easier than ever before, so we have tried to show that education and careers in the UK are also accessible to those who are based overseas. We also hope that it is clear that there is an abundance of opportunities to study and work abroad on offer to UK students and professionals. 

We have included information about the International Baccalaureate, careers profiles from geoscientists working all over the world, and recommendations to acquire language and other transferable skills to increase career choice.
