'Going to have to chuck in the Isle of Arran, reason I got into geology!'
From @WSFCGeology
The Isle of Arran, and particularly the well-known Lochranza field studies centre, offers some of the best opportunities to study the geology of the last 600 million years and is a great case study in volcanic igneous geology. It is recognised as one of the best locations for fieldwork in Europe with intrusive igneous landforms such as sills and dykes available to study at outcrop level.
A popular location for A Level and Undergraduate field trips, Arran was nominated in the Educational category for its importance as a location for learning and understanding geology.
