Manchester Masters gains first accreditation, writes Dawne Riddle
The Accreditation panel of the Society has agreed to endorse the favourable Report of the Panel of 3 Assessors on the MSc Petroleum Geoscience programme offered by the
University of Manchester, School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences.
The programme is therefore Accredited under the Society's scheme for a period of five years from 1 June 2007. Students graduating later this year will be the first cohort to receive a
GSL-accredited MSc degree.
Dr Colin Scrutton, Accreditation Officer of the Society, said: "This is an excellent result for Manchester and a good start for the newly launched Accreditation Scheme for taught postgraduate Masters programmes. We look forward to receiving more applications from schools and departments offering such programmes in the near future.
